{"id":7151,"date":"2025-10-12T17:51:12","date_gmt":"2025-10-12T17:51:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/soundverse.charmingflowers.com.vn\/?p=7151"},"modified":"2025-10-12T17:51:12","modified_gmt":"2025-10-12T17:51:12","slug":"new-elvis-documentary-epic-elvis-presley-in-concert-boasts-of-long-lost-footage-of-the-king","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/soundverse.charmingflowers.com.vn\/index.php\/2025\/10\/12\/new-elvis-documentary-epic-elvis-presley-in-concert-boasts-of-long-lost-footage-of-the-king\/","title":{"rendered":"New Elvis Documentary, \u2018EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert,\u2019 Boasts Of Long-Lost Footage Of \u201cThe King\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Watch the video at the end of this article.<\/h3>\n<h2>Introduction<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/countrymusicnation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Elvis-EPiC-documentary-Baz-Luhrmann-featured-729x409.png\" alt=\"In 2026, Baz Luhrmann's documentary &quot;EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert&quot; will see a wide release, thanks to distributors Universal and NEON.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-documentary-to-tour-the-world-with-neon-and-universal-pictures-distributing\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Documentary To Tour The World With NEON And Universal Pictures Distributing<\/h2>\n<p><em>\u201cI\u2019ve never been out of this country, except in the service,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0said Elvis Presley at a press conference in 1972, alluding to his time in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960.<\/p>\n<p>Now, through a new documentary by Baz Luhrmann, who previously directed the Academy Award-nominated film\u00a0<em>Elvis<\/em>\u00a0(2022), the \u201cKing of Rock and Roll\u201d will be seen by the world.<\/p>\n<p>Titled\u00a0<em><a class=\"broken_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt35003538\/?ref_=nm_flmg_job_2_accord_2_cdt_t_1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EPiC: Elvis Presley in Person<\/a><\/em>, the documentary will be released in theaters internationally in 2026 thanks to being acquired by two major distributors on Thursday, October 9.<\/p>\n<div id=\"AdThrive_Content_1_desktop\" class=\"adthrive-ad adthrive-content adthrive-content-1 adthrive-ad-cls\" data-google-query-id=\"COvMxqicn5ADFcsWigMd2YwH4Q\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/18190176,41236290\/AdThrive_Content_1\/65246554534b8f3ab4173b72_0__container__\"><iframe id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/18190176,41236290\/AdThrive_Content_1\/65246554534b8f3ab4173b72_0\" tabindex=\"0\" title=\"3rd party ad content\" name=\"google_ads_iframe_\/18190176,41236290\/AdThrive_Content_1\/65246554534b8f3ab4173b72_0\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" aria-label=\"Advertisement\" data-load-complete=\"true\" data-google-container-id=\"5\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Universal Pictures and NEON will give the film a wide release, with NEON\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=1466810178133768&amp;set=a.561266228688172\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">posting on social media<\/a>\u00a0that the documentary is a\u00a0<em>\u201cone-of-a-kind cinematic experience.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>While NEON is still fairly new on the scene, it has distributed two films that have won Best Picture at the Academy Awards:\u00a0<em>Parasite<\/em>\u00a0(2019) and\u00a0<em>Anora<\/em>\u00a0(2024).<\/p>\n<p>Responding to this news, Baz Luhrmann posted a video to Instagram, saying,\u00a0<em>\u201cEver since Jonathan Redmond and I found the unseen footage that went on to become \u2018EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert\u2019 \u2026 we had a dream that this film should be seen on the smallest screens in the smallest towns, and on the biggest screens in the biggest cities.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<div id=\"AdThrive_Content_2_desktop\" class=\"adthrive-ad adthrive-content adthrive-content-2 adthrive-ad-cls\" data-google-query-id=\"CL_85Kicn5ADFdS20QQdcAoK9g\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/18190176,41236290\/AdThrive_Content_2\/65246554534b8f3ab4173b72_0__container__\"><iframe id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/18190176,41236290\/AdThrive_Content_2\/65246554534b8f3ab4173b72_0\" tabindex=\"0\" title=\"3rd party ad content\" name=\"google_ads_iframe_\/18190176,41236290\/AdThrive_Content_2\/65246554534b8f3ab4173b72_0\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" aria-label=\"Advertisement\" data-load-complete=\"true\" data-google-container-id=\"4\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The footage used in the film was found by Luhrmann about seven years ago in Kansas. Altogether, he found 59 hours of film of Elvis that hadn\u2019t seen the light of day in decades, and used the footage as the primary source for his documentary.<\/p>\n<p>According to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/film\/news\/baz-luhrmann-elvis-presley-concert-film-neon-universal-1236544317\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Variety<\/a>, the footage that was found includes Elvis\u2019\u00a0<em>\u201cVegas residency in the 1970s,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0and<em>\u00a0\u201crare 16mm footage from \u2018Elvis on Tour.&#8217;\u201d<\/em>\u00a08mm film from the Graceland archive was also utilized in addition to newly rediscovered audio interviews with Elvis.<\/p>\n<p>To accomplish bringing this film to towns both big and small, he said the film would need a strong distribution team.<\/p>\n<p>Citing Universal Pictures and NEON as members of that team, Luhrmann added,\u00a0<em>\u201cGuess what?
