Donny\u2019s mother, Olive, was a close friend to Presley, someone he leaned on during his meteoric rise.<\/p>\n \u201cShe was like a surrogate mother to him,\u201d Osmond recalled with a grin. \u201cHe would call our home just to talk to her. Once, my brother Jay answered, and the voice on the other end said, [slipping into an Elvis impression] \u2018Is your mother there?\u2019 Jay asked, \u2018Yeah, who\u2019s calling?\u2019 The reply: \u2018This is Elvis.\u2019 But Jay didn\u2019t realize\u2014it went right over his head. He just shouted, \u2018Hey Mom, some guy named Elvis is on the phone!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Donny chuckled at the memory. \u201cWhen Mom told me, we all laughed ourselves silly. Jay had no clue it was Elvis Presley on the line.\u201d<\/p>\n This December, Osmond will take his award-winning Las Vegas residency overseas, with a UK tour that includes two nights at London\u2019s Hammersmith Apollo. It will be his first time performing there since 2017, and he promises his most elaborate production yet.<\/p>\n \u201cThis show covers everything I\u2019ve done\u2014and that\u2019s a lot,\u201d he teased. Audiences can expect a career-spanning celebration: from the early days with The Osmonds, to his famous duets with sister Marie, to Broadway performances, solo hits, and more.<\/p>\n A fan-favorite highlight is his 15-minute request segment, where he takes spontaneous song requests without a setlist or teleprompter. For the UK run, Osmond plans to extend this portion, giving fans the chance to relive the soundtrack of their lives in real time.<\/p>\n Despite a packed performing schedule in Las Vegas, Osmond emphasizes that family comes first. He and his wife, Debbie\u2014his partner of 45 years\u2014have five sons and 12 grandchildren. Debbie will join him on the UK tour, something that makes the experience even more special.<\/p>\n \u201cFamily means everything to me,\u201d Osmond said. \u201cBetween curtain calls, I love slipping back into my role as Grandpa.\u201d<\/p>\n That role carries its own share of fun\u2014especially since his 2019 appearance as \u201cThe Peacock\u201d on The Masked Singer<\/em>. \u201cOne of my grandsons, Truman, still calls me \u2018the Peacock,\u2019\u201d Osmond laughed. \u201cHe won\u2019t say Grandpa.
