The Covey Center for the Arts will be hosting auditions for the U.S. National Premiere of\u00a0\u2018The Osmonds\u2019 Musical.<\/p>\n
The UK show,\u00a0\u2018The\u00a0Osmonds: A New Musical\u2019 will be making its North American debut in Provo early 2026, and the Covey Center for the Arts is looking for actors and actresses. Auditions will take place on Sept. 19 and 20.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of reasons I wanted to start it here, because so much happened in this musical [in Provo],\u201d says author, Jay Osmond. \u201cWe\u2019ve had great connections with the Covey family.\u201d<\/p>\n
Willow Becker with the Covey Center for the Arts said that the production is marketed in collaboration with the Utah Office of Tourism. Each actor will be paid between $2,600-$5,200.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe outbid companies in the New York area, Houston, and a few others,\u201d Stephen Pullen, General Manager said. \u201cWe could have chosen to bring in actors from Los Angeles and New York, but I was convinced that we had the talent here to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The in-person auditions are only for those who have not completed a video audition. The story touches on financial ruin and recovery, but a family that sticks together through it all.<\/p>\n \u201cThis musical shows a lot of the successes and failures, and people come out of the theater having a greater respect for every member of my family,\u201d Osmond says.<\/p>\n\u2018The\u00a0Osmonds: A New Musical\u2019<\/h2>\n
