Introduction
While Michael Jackson had a very close relationship with his chimpanzee, Bubbles, for many years, Bubbles was not explicitly named as a beneficiary in Michael Jackson’s will.
However, it’s important to note the following:
- Bubbles was sent to an animal sanctuary (the Center for Great Apes in Florida) in 2005, several years before Michael Jackson’s death in 2009. This was primarily because, as chimpanzees age, they become stronger and more aggressive, making them unsuitable as household pets.
- Michael Jackson’s Estate has continued to financially support Bubbles’ care at the sanctuary. This arrangement was made after Bubbles’ arrival at the sanctuary, and the Estate has consistently honored its commitment to cover his annual care costs.
So, while Bubbles wasn’t a direct heir in the will, his well-being has been provided for by Jackson’s estate since his passing.
