Brooks & Dunn’s Ronnie Dunn walked off stage during an encore of their iconic song “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” at a concert in Indianapolis on April 3, 2025, because he was not feeling well due to illness.
A representative for the duo confirmed that Dunn, 71, was sick at the time of the incident. Fans and social media videos showed him appearing to struggle throughout the show, even sitting down on stage risers during an earlier song. He gestured to his band and waved to the audience before exiting during “Boot Scootin’ Boogie,” prompting concern from fans.
Dunn had previously shared on social media and at other concerts that he had been battling the flu, strep throat, and even COVID-19 in the weeks leading up to this performance. Despite the abrupt exit, he returned to the stage for the next scheduled show.
